Warm Up today we will do together as class notes: What are the three different types of variables we worked with in our investigation (pg 73 Define Each)? Identify what each type was in your investigation from Tuesday. (Type these warm up notes for Thursday's warm up question, upload these to dropbox at the end of the week)
Activity: Group Discussion on our 1st investigation on Erosion. Prepare for the Investigation Expo. What else can we do next time we do in the next investigation.
Homework: Identify trends you observed in your data on Tuesday and state a claim based on those trends.
FRIDAY: Weathering vs Erosion
Warm Up: You want to compare how granite is eroded by a river to how sandstone is eroded by a river. To test this you build a model of a river ﬂowing over granite and sandstone. What are the (independent) manipulated and (dependent) responding variables? What are some of the variables you will control?
InClass Activity: Give students time to share Investigation Expo Posters. View Slide Presentation on Weathering vs erosion - students will take notes on these slides .
If time permits: Watch video on basketball court solution example and discuss how we will set up and design our solution. youtube video . What are some ways to prevent erosion that were shown in the youtube video?
Homework: Only if we had time to watch the youtube video in class...(If not, just spend time tonight preparing document for dropbox- No Friday HW) Otherwise, Research new ideas to help prevent erosion for the BB court. Write two of your ideas that may prevent erosion for BB Court, upload to dropbox for Friday's Homework. Be prepared to share with class on Monday. If possible, bring supplies, soil, gravel, plant material, bark, etc.

SNORKEL DAY at Kam III -6C will leave the school at 9:00 am with Mrs Yap. Meet in front of the school with all necessary snorkel gear. Plan to return before lunch. Parents/Volunteers can meet at Kam III at 9:20 am.
