InClass Activity: Introduce Sand.....Scientifically!
Students will be examining sand samples from a variety of locations around Maui. Each group will be share their findings on MONDAY during a video conference from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm. During the presentation groups will share their data, sand maps and conclusions. Groups can create posters to help explain their data and share how it relates to the following questions:
1. What is a watershed?
2. How sand gets to the ocean? Class video
3. a. What is sand made of? What is the sand made of from our data samples?

Homework: Be Prepared for field excursions
Comfortable shoes, hat, phones - camera use only, sunscreen and snack, back pack and water.
We will leave promptly after 1st advisory or 4th period and return before 2:30 pm dismissal.
We will be going to Black Sand Beach & Polo Beach /Big Beach.
