- Use addition property of equality with subtraction to isolate variable x - 4 = 20
- Use subtraction property of equality with additon to isolate variable x + 21 = 56
- Use multiplication property of equality with division to isolate variable x/3 = 5
- Use division property of equality with multiplication to isolate the variable 6x = 18

## Review Integer Rules.....

**Addition**

When adding integers and the

**signs are the same**, add them up and take their sign.

Example #1:

**- 4 + - 3 = - 7**Example #2:

**5 + 8 = 13**

When adding integers when the

**signs are different**, subtract and take the sign of the larger number (the number that is farthest away from zero.

Example #1:

**-4 + 8**subtract = 4 , farthest away from zero is 8 (positive).....

**Answer = +4**

Example #2:

**6 + - 14**subtract = 8, farthest away from zero is 14 (negative).....

**Answer = -8**
